Of course instant coffee from Nestl\u00c3\u00a8 was omniscient, even in the most remote areas of the Chiang Mai mountains. But today there is a growing coffee culture developing in this part of Thailand. Even though the Thai people prefer to drink the Ice Coffee with loads of sugar a taste for Latte, Cappuccino and the Espresso is being explored.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"color: #111111;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.starbucks.co.th\/en-US\/_Our+Stores\/_Community+Stores\/Chiangmai.htm\">Starbucks<\/a> came to Chiang Mai with a bang and rescued all the Americanos from having to drink&#0160;McDonald&#39;s instant brew called &quot;caution hot&quot; I don&#39;t know how they came up with that name for a coffee. Unfortunately Starbucks has rather been a luxery for us. (to be honest, i find their coffee a bit week) Ten years ago<a href=\"http:\/\/www.boncafe.co.th\/branches\/chiangmai.htm\"> Boncaf\u00c3\u00a9 <\/a>was the only shop serving proper coffee. But there was only one shop in all of Chinang Mai. Ah Yes there is also Black Canyon which served different coffee&#39;s as well.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #111111;\">Today when you go to Chiang Mai there are hundreds of little coffee shops. The cheapest coffee (15 Baht) I found is in the foodcourt of the Tesco shopping center.&#0160;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #111111;\">The best coffee I had so far is in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wawee.co.th\/beta-3\/en\/about\/indexabout_ww_inc.php?redirect=\">Wawee coffee shops<\/a>. This is a Thai franchise that uses local coffee beans from the Chiang Mai province. I realy like the strong taste of the Latte.
